OUR PROCESS

1. SCHEDULE

After you schedule an appointment through our website or by phone, you will receive new patient paperwork to complete online or print and bring to your first appointment. This will save 15 minutes in our office. Upon arrival, we will welcome you with tea (coffee, or water 😊) and guide you through a tour of our office.

2. CONSULTATION

We will discuss your health history, current pregnancy or fertility concerns and goals. Dr. Raya will share about planned home birth, explain what integrated birth care is, and how it can support your body’s innate ability to birth. This is also an opportunity to ask questions, gain clarity and confidence, and determine whether Profound Birth is the right fit for your fertility, pregnancy and birth journey.

3. ENROLLMENT IN CARE

After your first appointment will be your Enrollment in Care aka “Orientation”. We will review our practice policies, protocols, and guidelines, with all required documents including consent to care, informed consent forms and our financial agreement. After expectations for care are clear, we will accept your retainer to enroll in care, and schedule your initial prenatal appointment.

4. INITIAL PRENATAL

Following your enrollment in care will be your Initial Prenatal with Dr. Raya. The first prenatal appointment is a comprehensive, unhurried appointment focused on establishing a strong foundation for care. We complete a thorough physical exam, prenatal assessment and review your medical and obstetric history in depth.

5. PERINATAL NUTRITION

After your initial prenatal appointment will be your Perinatal Nutrition consultation. These visits focus on supporting optimal nourishment throughout pregnancy and postpartum. We will review your current patterns, nutritional needs, and any lab findings and provide individualized recommendations to support maternal energy, fetal development, and postpartum recovery.

6. PRENATAL CARE

Routine prenatal visits provide space to monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing, address physical and emotional changes, review labs and nutrition, and prepare for physiologic birth. Each individualized visit is centered on relationship-based care, education, and whole-person support throughout pregnancy.

7. POSTPARTUM CARE

Following your birth will be Postpartum Care to support healing, integration, and the transition into parenthood. We provide attentive follow-up care for both parent and baby, that extends through the early weeks after birth as your family settles into its new rhythm.

8. LACTATION SUPPORT

We provide Lactation Support for feeding challenges, latch and positioning, milk supply concerns, and infant feeding patterns, both prenatally and postpartum. Whether you’re preparing for breastfeeding or navigating the early weeks with your baby, our goal is to support a confident, well-supported feeding relationship.
